Meet our Head Chef, Claudette

Claudette runs the kitchen at The Passage’s Resource Centre, and is also in charge of catering for Cathedral View.

How long have you worked in the catering industry?

My first role was as a kitchen assistant as an agency worker back in 1987. Little did I know I would still be working in the industry 37 years later! It just goes to show, when you find your passion, you will never look back.

How long have you worked at The Passage?

I joined The Passage as Head Chef in 1999. Fast forward to today, and I am the proud Head Chef and Primary Services Manager. I celebrated my 25th anniversary here in May 2024.

What is your favourite thing about working at The Passage?

Well, besides being able to provide a really good food service to our clients, I really enjoy the amount of people I get to meet throughout my day-to-day work. Clients, volunteers, corporates; I feel lucky to meet so many people from all walks of life!

What is your favourite food?

I have too many to choose, but if I have to choose it would be something simple like lobster with garlic butter!

Between April 2024 and March 2025, Claudette and The Passage team served a staggering 46,266 meals to those experiencing or at risk of homelessness in London.

Recently, The Passage has seen a dramatic increase in the number of people relying on its Resource Centre for hot meals, clean clothes and more. So, with demand for these services continuing to rise, your booking could not come at a better time.
